1. Introduction

In the management of erectile dysfunction (ED), patients are prescribed a variety of medicines to manage symptoms. These include drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors, including sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis) and vardenafil (Levitra), and drugs known as alpha-blockers, primarily for lowering blood pressure (). In addition to these drugs, there are a variety of oral medications and some topical agents that are available in oral form (). For example, oral treatments for high blood pressure are available and can be taken with or without food. However, the choice of treatment depends on the individual response and tolerability of the patient, including the potential side effects of the drug.

In this study, we compared three different oral medicines with different chemical names, namely, sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil. The chemical structure of each drug was determined byMfoldsynthesis andchemical analysis. The three drugs were selected for comparison and were chosen based on their pharmacokinetic profile, pharmacodynamics, safety, tolerability and safety profile. The drug structures were examined usingXRD,IRTGAMIRandNMRscanning spectroscopy. The drug interactions between the three drugs were assessed usingin vitroin vivostudies, including in vitro and in vivo studies, and the drug-drug interactions were evaluated throughstudies.

A study published in the May, 2009, issue of the journal The Journal of Sexual Medicine found that Viagra had similar effects to sildenafil, the branded drug in erectile dysfunction.

But the researchers found that men who took Viagra had higher rates of ejaculation than men who took sildenafil, a drug in the same class as Viagra.

The study, by a team led by the University of New South Wales, was published in the July.

"Our findings are consistent with those of other studies in the erectile dysfunction treatment community, where studies have shown that sexual intercourse can increase the likelihood of achieving and maintaining an erection," Professor Richard Witty, from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, said in a news release.

He added: "The findings that we found support suggest that the use of sildenafil may be associated with an increase in the incidence of erectile dysfunction.
